I’m convinced all would be right if we lived in a world where there were no bad hair days. And while I love trying new hair styles, I like to stick to what I know to keep the bad hair days to a minimum. So I’m sharing all my tips, tricks, and products that I use on a weekly basis for effortless waves! Let’s start with the product lineup for prepping my hair out of the shower. I always spray Kristin Ess Thickening Spray in my hair before I blow-dry to give it extra volume and then put Olaplex Bonding Oil on my ends. My ends get really dry in the fall and winter so this gives them some shine and moisture. I spray HSI Professional heat protectant from Amazon throughout my hair and then blow dry. I heat up my DryBar Wrap Party Wand and then separate my hair into two sections. I’ve been using the DryBar wand for three years now and I can honestly say it gives you THE PRETTIEST curls that hold their shape throughout the day.
I start on the bottom section curling my hair away from my face (as shown in the video below). I like to start the curl at the root of my head because it gives me a bit more volume. After curling the bottom section on both sides, I spray my hair with DryBar Triple Sec 3-in-1 Texturizing Finishing Spray. The texturizing spray smells like HEAVEN (I’m always tempted to use it as perfume haha). It gives your hair an effortless “tousled” look, and makes the curls have a bit more body. I then curl the top section with the same method as the bottom section, always starting each curl at the root of my head and I wrap the curl over and back around the iron instead of forward. The only place I like to start the curl lower is on the two front sections of hair that frame my face. I always end up looking like Shirley Temple if I start the curls in the wrong place.. Less is definitely more in the front. I finish off my curls by locking them in with the Oribe Superfine Spray. I love this hairspray because it’s lightweight but holds your curls throughout the day. I like to give my roots a quick little tease with a teasing comb and then I’m ready to go!
